4030 SynShield® Classic Performance Synthetic Plus 10W-30 meets and exceeds API SQ, ILSAC GF-7A, and it replaces 703 Supreme 7000™ Synthetic Plus 10W-30.

SynShield® Classic Performance Synthetic Plus 10W-30 is a synthetic plus oil that protects gasoline-fueled automotive and light-duty trucks operating in all driving conditions. This oil may also be used on engines that are turbocharged and/or supercharged.

It’s ideal for engines that need reliable performance but do not require a full synthetic oil. Meets and exceeds API SQ, ILSAC GF-7A.

4030 SynShield® Classic Performance Synthetic Plus 10W-30 meets and exceeds API SQ, ILSAC GF-7A, and it replaces 703 Supreme 7000™ Synthetic Plus 10W-30.

Our synthetic plus 10W-30 is a multi-grade gasoline oil engineered with the finest quality of select synthetic plus base oils, an advanced additive package and a highly shear stable viscosity index improver.

Using proprietary friction modifiers, Micron Moly® and Penetro®, SynShield® Classic Performance Synthetic Plus 10W-30 quickly plates to metal surfaces, creating a slippery, tenacious shield that prevents metal-to-metal contact. By reducing friction and wear, SynShield® Classic Performance Synthetic Plus 10W-30 protects critical engine parts, thereby increasing engine efficiency, engine life and fuel economy.

Here's the difference from Supreme 7000... the change to "API SQ" :

The primary differences include:
  • Performance Evolution: While API SN Plus was an interim standard designed primarily to address Low-Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) in turbocharged engines, API SQ builds upon the intervening API SP standard to offer superior protection across all metrics.
  • Fuel Efficiency: API SQ oils provide up to 16% higher fuel efficiency compared to previous standards like API SP, a metric not specifically emphasized in the SN Plus category.
  • Ultra-Low Viscosity Support: API SQ introduces support for ultra-low viscosity oils such as SAE 0W-8 and 0W-12, which were not covered by older standards or even the concurrent ILSAC GF-7 standards.
  • Emissions Control: API SQ mandates a maximum sulfated ash limit of 0.9% to prevent clogging of Gasoline Particulate Filters (GPFs), extending the life of modern emission control systems.
  • Enhanced Protection: Compared to SN Plus, SQ offers significantly improved timing chain wear control, better sludge and varnish management, and enhanced protection for engines running on ethanol-blended fuels up to E85.
  • Backward Compatibility: API SQ is fully backward compatible, meaning it can be used in any vehicle that originally required API SN Plus, API SP, or earlier "S" categories.
